Forest Gate
Oil on Canvas
30 x 30 x 1.5 in

This semi-abstract piece was created in response to concerns about locked gates, ending caretaker programs, and urban development surrounding some local parks, including the one next to Neilson's home.

"I love our regional parks, for all they have to offer in all seasons, and I love how nature spills over the fence into our communities. The idea for this project started with sketchbook drawings when I met two tiny but resilient baby birds on my side of the fence."
